PRINCETON, W.V. — Over the last few days I've been through Southwest Virginia, down in North Carolina and now back up into the mountains on the West Virginia side near Bluefield for some stories about the political climate in red states.
Sen. Barack Obama has set up a massive organization across the country, and especially in North Carolina.
The campaign has given supporters lists with hours and locations of early voting sites, and collected the names, e-mail address and cell phone number of each attendee at the Fayetteville rally Sunday afternoon. (There were a few thousand who had to listen to his speech from the parking lot after the coliseum hit about 10,000 capacity.)
An organizer at the rally rattled off the addresses of early vote sites nearby that would be open after the event.
Photographer Joe Eddins and I headed over to the closest one and found a steady line of voters hoping to cast ballots early. Most seemed to be Obama supporters and several had come from the rally. Nearly all the voters were black.
Also at the polling site was a group of loud and angry protesters who shouted and mocked the voters as they walked in. Nearly all were white.
As you can see from these videos, no one held anything back. People were shouting about Obama's acknowledged cocaine use as a young man, abortion and one man used the word "terrorist." They also were complaining that Sundays are for church, not voting.
A ray of light in all the darkness: Kids!!!!
THERES WAY MORE at the source!! http://www.huffingtonpost.com/christina-bellantoni/mccain-supporters-hec...

The Republicans are doing their best to steal this Election. Again.
I will go to vote this Wed. wearing my Obama tee, camera in hand to record any shenanigans.

Yep -- like always -- the biggest whiners of them all!
That's cool -- I hope it's all peaceful out there girl!!
2"I will go to vote this Wed. wearing my Obama tee, camera in hand to record any shenanigans."
3ANY shenanigans? Or just from the GOP side?
Dream, I'd like to see more blogs actually written by you and not just pulled from the internet. That way it'd be less "watch me smear the GOP using my mad hunt, copy & paste skills!" and more "read my intelligent opinion about this issue."
Dream, you sure are busy finding examples of how Republicans are rotten to the core! I almost decided to question all my convictions, change sides, and vote for Obama. DOH!
4[Dream, I'd like to see more blogs actually written by you and not just pulled from the internet.]
Hummmmm it's kinda a free country and well the group is called Dreamsugar:SugarFree....sooooooooooooooooo -- if you don't like it you could..........and you could.....................and don't forget to...........................and when you're done with that you might want to...........................
I like to post the articles and debate the which my friends - if you have an issue with that, that's your problem -- Im not loosing any sleep over your opinion -- and you know what they say about opinions.
5
I mean again -- this is MY group -- you don't like it -- take your backside to Conservative.
6I'm glad your sleep isn't becoming loose because of me. That would be a shame. I'd feel so........ just like.... and then...... until it all.......
7You're so funny to me and you don't even know it.
WOW -- I take offense to that -- report time.
8It's funny -- you know you're popular when people seek you out.
9Big surprise there.
10
11No its not popularity, its called rubber necking at the unfortunate accident.
12(cue frantic "Report Comment" clicking)
13Honestly -- if it's not you in the video why are you getting pissed. You act like it's your father or something. This is REAL life and it's happening now -- why are people trying to suppress it (I wonder).
14Girl -- I didn't report you......lol.....that was a joke -- I thought you knew me. Hummmmm jumpy.
15Who is trying to suppress it??
16You tell me. Why so pissed???
17You lose a lot of credibility when you make things up that other people are supposedly doing/saying and then start pointing fingers when questioned.
18I don't see anyone here more hostile than you always seem to be. I really want to know why you think we're trying to suppress heckling that is happening at polls.
Me -- hostile -- no.
I respond to what I'm given. IF you're hostile then -- well that's what you will get. You came to my house, throwing stone -- well you'll get some back.
Any who -- I say suppress only because you rather talk about me than the issue. Confront the issue -- I didn't make this stuff up - I just posted it. Go tell your people to calm down if you don't like their behavior.
19[You lose a lot of credibility when you make things up that other people are supposedly doing/saying and then start pointing fingers when questioned.]
Please EXPLAIN how I made the subject up.
20If no one on this thread is trying to suppress the original topic, and yet you say we're trying to suppress everything bad GOP does, then that's MAKING IT UP. Pretty, pretty simple.
21Suppressing it (to me) is not staying on topic (kinda like what the McCain camp is doing currently) - only to distract and to "change the subject" by talking about something entirely different. That's what you are doing -- that's not made up -- it starts on post 3.
Again -- you rather talk about me than the topic.
22I made one comment that was off topic. To which YOU went off on a tangent.
23Here's my take on the original topic- Those people are immature. It's immature to try to ruffle feathers, because obviously they realize they're more likely to piss people off than change any minds. They're being rude and disrespectful.
I think you could learn a little something from these people and their nasty approach to politics.
That's my two pennies.
oh now you did it
Now you REALLY hurt my feelings -- whatever will I do.
Talk about all you want lady -- I can careless.
24*about ME
25Dream, where are all your liberal friends to defend you? I have to be honest. Being standoffish does not make you sound smart.
When you play this act, something tells me you enjoy having a showdown every day. And none of the people who would agree with you seem to want any part of it. I think you are funny, and I like to hear the other side's story too, which is why I hang around. Come on. You do this almost every day. You post something that's actually available to the ENTIRE world and then when someone disagrees with you, you basically say "I don't care!" and add laughing emoticons. This is straight off the playground.
26True -- so true
27whatever. you are mocking me. be serious, at least with me. I've been kind to you, even when you are acting silly.
You post about serious issues. Then you get standoffish. You lend absoultely no credence to the argument, and make the rest of the people who support you look silly by association.
28Dream, are you aware that your rudeness is actually chasing people AWAY from your candidate? And yes, I DO know this for a fact.
It's much more supportive of your candidate to stick to facts instead of this rude conjecture that is constantly being spewed.

29If you always do as you've always done, you'll always get what you've always gotten.
John McCain and learn much from you.
You don't like the topic -- I get that -- but instead of talking about the topic you gang up on me -- personally. Well truth be told -- I really don't care. I mean how can I better say it. You seem to think that I'm making the news up -- I'm not. The news is out there to be found.
30This is really disgusting. So many people don't even care to vote, and now some people might fear getting heckled at the polls? I'm glad my state allows early voting, so I can avoid the craziness of election day
31There must be a private post on Conservative Sugar today with my name on it. I'm quite flattered.
32[John McCain and learn much from you.]
Oooops that is John McCain CAN learn much from you.
33Dream, the news IS out there! I believe you! no one is denying it. And there are a lot of things we agree on, or maybe slightly differ. Racism is a BIG freaking deal. If Obama gets elected, that is one thing I will celebrate even though I disagree with his policies - that a black man finally made it to the White House. that is awesome. But if you bother to post anything out here on the internet, have some ideas prepared to defend it, rather than acting like a 12 year old. You will do the issue a lot more justice if you talk about it intelligently rather than playing "nanny nanny boo boo" with people.
34[But if you bother to post anything out here on the internet, have some ideas prepared to defend it, rather than acting like a 12 year old. You will do the issue a lot more justice if you talk about it intelligently rather than playing "nanny nanny boo boo" with people.]
Hummmmmmmmm - interesting and you called yourself my friend - ok.
Why so mad??? The chick insulted me (or tried) starting on comment 3 -- so I'm not allowed to defend myself.
Ok -- anything else??
35I was actually being sincere on my first comment. It was genuine constructive critique.
36Ah -- ok -- just because you say so.
Anything else -- you all seem to want to unload on me -- go ahead -- I'll be your punching bag.
37Funny -- you quoted comment 1 -- but choose to direct your comment to me. Funny.
38The first part was to her, the second to you. It's pretty straightforward....
39Ah -- ok
OK -- soo anyone else want to unload. I get it -- I'm right there with you -- your candidate is WAY down in the polls -- he's the under dog -- you need to unload -- let me have it -- helmet on -- I'm ready........and go --
40Dream, seriously. I am your friend. You make me laugh out loud every day! I'm sorry that I railed on you on a public post. That is rude in any case.
You just do this every day when someone disagrees with you. If I didn't give a $hit, I wouldn't bother typing it. if she insulted you, it may have something to do with the fact that your reputation preceeds you a little. You have told us plenty of times that you don't care, remember?
41In Dream's defense, I don't see anything wrong with pasting stories from other sources. She's just directing her friends towards stories she found interesting.
42There's nothing wrong with it necessarily, I just said I'd like to see some original posts too.
43On a side note, McCain is within the margin of error in the latest polls, so I certainly wouldn't say he's WAY down.
44I see what you're saying, foxie! I didn't mean to criticize you with that comment. I usually find other people's thoughts more interesting, just because I can't find them elsewhere, so I do agree with you on that.
But, I myself post stories I found other places a lot, too.
So I see both sides.
45I'm smelling what you're stepping in! =)
46Anything else -- I mean what are you trying to do make me cry -- I don't get it -- that isn't gonna happen -- Look I'm totally decided in this election so everything else is funny or interesting to me. People argue back and forth thinking that they can change my opinion -- you can't -- my mind is made up. I'm voting for Obama -- you are beating a dead horse -- and by attacking me personally -- what do you hope to achieve.
And my reputation -- you don't even know me -- you know NOTHING about me -- so WTF!
Seriously -- anything else -- UnDave you want to get in on this?
47If people change their vote based on the behavior of one person that is just ridiculous! I have in no way based my voting for Barack on the behavior of some very mean conservatives.
48I was actually trying to be nice for once, dream! (Not that anything you said was directed toward me, I just felt the need to point it out!)
49I definitely don't think any of us are holding our breath for your swing vote, Dream! You're definitely one of the most outspoken Obama supporters on the site.
